Biography of the Equatorial Plastic Artist Henry Males Castellanos.
The Professional Painter Henry Armando Males Castellanos was born on September 22th, 1977 in Quito, Ecuador. He is an Autodidact Artist. Henry Males when is in front of his canvas on white, He excites, fights, sweats, He stays out of breath, but at the end He reaches to convince his public, according to his whims, to his imagination, to his intuitions, to his tastes, disguising them, filling up them, organizing them, with the patience, the stubborn, in which a Work of Art is forging, until the supreme achievement of the “conjurer” taking out of the reality and turning them into illusion.

Here are the opinions that were part of the Quito´s French´s Alliance´s Inauguration. “We know Henry Males since when he was giving his first steps in the marvelous World of The Art, the colors, the paintbrushes, the consummated canvas, the stained aprons of dreams and illusions conceived.
Months back He talked me about a Show that He called “Magic Realism”. And Here we are attending this exhibition and I asked to Henry, Why Realism? He knew to tell me ”Because in the daily cohabitation we found fruits, cloths, Jars, Vases, etc; and these are which surrounded us, we manipulate them, with them we nourish us; it means, are part of our own life, because are daily.
Magic, is what the Artist through the colors, the shapes, the space makes the composition of the things or elements that are there. Henry confessed “I tried living, having a wide effect, the feelings are mixed since my childhood”.
He said that “The canvas is sensual, is a woman that He endeavored to posses, He struggles with the composition, but at the end He overcomes.
In his “Still Life’s” He added the Human Figure to give them life, because at the end the human being is part of this magic ritual, that is the cosmos.
The Magic of the Artist is giving life to the inert, as the old things that dance to the fruits´rhythm; cloths and colors everlasting in this way the object´s jewel. Much more than this, we found the Magic at the Joint´s disquiet´s disposition, the symmetry, the affinities, the assonances, the contrasts that go junipering a glaze’s iron´s vase with the cloths, flowers and fruits on the tables. He works until reaching a coherent shade, a compact being that resembles to a pyramid, a symphony, a novel.
We could say that his style doesn´t fit in with the surroundings, everything is suitable completely, the colors, the empties, the lights, the shadows, the functions, the ideas, the dreams and the techniques that made up possible every Work of Art.
The technique used in the Portraits is Oleo on Canvas, is a cloth very well prepared with a guarantee of 500 years and He worked with the best Oleo Winsor&Newton, and with paintbrushes of marta´s hair, is a very Fine Job, that maybe is not very well appreciated in Ecuador, but abroad a lot;he took ten days in making up a Portrait including the time of drying. It means, that in ten days it will be ready for delivering, he only makes them up in a stretcher. He never hand them with frame, but with its Respective Letter of Authenticity.
