Biography of the Equatorial Painter José Matute Vinueza
The painter José Matute Vinueza which pseudonym is “Prehistoric Jurassic Park” in honor to the famous film of Steven Spielberg, who he admires and because of his strong obsession of painting the update dinosaurs, iguanas; was born on September 25th 1951, in the Streets Villavicencio and Guaranda, the Neighborhood of the Tamarinds. From Cuenca´s father and Babahoyo´s mother. He believes that he inherits his fondness by The Art, by his father´s side.He studied his primary in The Municipal School No. 9, called “Adolfo Fassio” and his secondary in The National High School, called “Francisco de Orellana”. His vocation by the painting is for self-taught, his unique teachers have been the Books, and he got inspiration from Salvador Daly, which is sub realistic, tending to face facts in a visionary rather than practical way, opposite to the realism; and Manuel Rendón Seminario, which paints in all kinds of techniques.
Our Prehistoric Jurassic Park Matute painted since he was only six years old, cartoons and landscapes; through the 45 years he began with the technique of the watercolor, aniline, pen nibs, charcoal and while the time passes, he started from the ground up to has a good grasp of the oleo, the acrylic and the chalk pastry with the Naïf style, that reflects the purity and the innocence in the composition of the colors and the lines in the proper marks’ image according to the masterly, that he wanted to show.
